Larraine (Corpuz) Lake, born in the Philippines and raised in Chicago, began her humanitarian work in 2004 with the Chicago Filipino-American Lions Club. Her first fundraising event for tsunami victims in Indonesia and Sri Lanka earned her the prestigious Melvin Jones Award. In 2009, she led another successful campaign supporting typhoon "Ondoy" victims in the Philippines, garnering strong support from Chicagoland communities and businesses.
Larraine was also a proud and active member of the Meals on Wheels Golf Committee for 16 years, working to benefit home-bound senior citizens in Chicago. Her duties included securing corporate sponsorships, raising donations, and charity event management.
In December 2020, during the pandemic, Larraine spent five months in the Philippines, witnessing the daily struggles of people in her birthplace, Cabanatuan City. This experience led her to begin charity work in 2021, providing groceries to families in need. Inspired to make a larger impact, she launched One Heart for Humanity in December 2022, which now provides food and school supplies to hundreds of families in Nueva Ecija and Pangasinan, Philippines.
Mary Michelle Abadam born and raised in Chicago is a dedicated philanthropist and accomplished business leader. She is the CFO of Precision Audio and Video, the owner of Kainos Asset Management, and independent distributor for Incellderm Beauty, LLC, and a former member of the Chicago Filipino American Lions Club (2004–2009).
Michelle’s journey into humanitarian relief began in 2004, when she organized her first successful fundraiser for tsunami victims. Together with Larraine Lake, she led a major fundraising event that benefited tsunami victims in Indonesia and Sri Lanka, an effort that earned both of them the prestigious Melvin Jones Award from Lions International. In 2009, Michelle spearheaded another impactful fundraising campaign to support victims of typhoon "Ondoy" in the Philippines, garnering support from Chicago communities and businesses.
On October 31, 2022, Michelle co-founded One Heart for Humanity, a non-profit dedicated to providing essential aid, such as nutrition, education, and livelihood tools, to impoverished families in the Philippines.
Jason Lake, born and raised in the Chicago area, has always been passionate about using technology to make a difference. His journey into charity work began when he found a way to leverage his technical skills to support organizations and individuals striving to help others. When his wife, Larraine Lake, decided to start OneHeartforHumanity, Jason knew he had found the perfect opportunity to contribute his expertise. Jason is dedicated to empowering people and communities and ensuring those who wish to make a positive impact have the tools and resources they need to succeed. Through his work with OneHeartforHumanity, Jason continues to bridge the gap between technology and humanitarian efforts, helping to improve lives and bring hope to those in need.
